Although, like father like son they say as birds of the same feather flog together. His type shouldn’t be allowed to occupy any public offices anymore and these act of his calls for his immediate removal of any political office he hold, this will serve a long way as a lesson for others not to misuse power and opportunity given to them to serve in a public office.

The general public, aninrian’s, lovers and well wishers, friends, political allies of honorable Bennett Ajah the incumbent chairman of Aninri local government area, should disregard the blackmailing and propagating of false news from udengene and there cohorts in “Aninri people’s forum” as it lack merit and never proven beyond any reasonable doubts.

Political Propaganding, Blackmailing By Ikeoha Boys On The LG Chairman Of Aninri.

Several intrigues and conspiracies are beginning to unravel among the distractors and there cohort who called themselves “Ikeoha’s boy” as they have regrouped themselves as “Aninri People’s Forum” thereby going about propagating false news and blackmailing the incumbent administration of honorable Bennett Ajah to have recruited media aids, which they believed would not leave any stone unturned in exposing their propaganda’s and their godfather who they have some sort of dogma that he is the political alfa and omega for the people of aninri and a political sine-qua-non.

Just like a religion; the belief of the enugu west people in him assumed a god-like dimension with its umbrella symbol as a veritable insignia of mass deception.

Note: The general public should hereby disregard any information from the aforementioned groups as they tend to disrupt the peaceful co-existence and the reputation of the incumbent administration of honorable Bennett Ajah the executive chairman of Aninri.

ANINRI POLITICS.

It is not only in the animal kingdom that predators exist; they also exist in political kingdom where they exhibit unrestrained predatory animalism. Is anyone in doubt of this human animalistic idiosyncrasies? Well, Aristotle captures the scenario succinctly in his summary description of the nature of man; “man is by nature a political animal”- Aristotle(382-322 BC).

One hard truth about Aninri politics is that most of our political elites often look forward to money sharing as they support candidates’ for political positions. They may not voice it, but at the back of their minds, the sharing of money after elections had been won and lost and power acquired and consolidated, hangs rapaciously like the gluttony of a goat.

It is unfortunate as it is heart-rending that these predatorial political elites do not care about the masses. As far as they are concerned, the proletariat can go to blazes because their egocentric interest is simple; so long as aninri local government financial allocations keep coming to a round table for sharing, they don’t give a hoot whether our dear local government is developed or not and whether the masses were empowered or not. Their own is to feather their selfish nests in all directions at the expense of our local government and the people as they regularly smile ostentatiously to the bank, while the people suffer abject penury. Chief Gani Faweihinmi describes them metaphorically as political predators. In Aninri the incumbent administration is their greatest albatross!

Since the chairman’s frugal and prudent methodology in the management of our local government resources had not emasculated their greedy hands and blocked the conduits through which others equally siphoned our exchequer, our collective patrimony would have been aggressively and irredeemably raped to stupor and Aninri would have still remained irretrievably in the denigrating and derisive doldrums of primitivity, wearing the opprobrious epithet, “Dust of the state”.

If the chairman had thrown our patrimony open to their whims, they would be hailing him, but after power they will be blaming him for sharing money that could have been used to develop the local government regardless of the fact that they were the beneficiaries. So, it is the best thing for our chairman to be castigated, cajoled and maligned on social media by political predators and their crumb eaters for not sharing our local government allocations among them now that he is in power than to share the allocations and be pilloried after power for not developing the council by the same people who see him from their avaricious prisms as a left-wing ideologue.

Our chairman is the greatest albatross of these political predators who inhabit our political ecosystem, eating up the vegetables of our development in the past. Today, they are not hiding the fact that they are not happy, but what is the justification for their anger with the chairman’s uncompromising stance against heist of whatever guise? Even when they equally savour the infrastructural bliss of the chairman, they still want the allocations raw like the sacrificial meat; demanded raw by Hophni and Phinehas in the Holy Writ. It’s a sin against God.

Leader like Cee Menia’s breed, considers viable options to checkmate the pillaging of our local government resources are called “stingy” and opposed by malevolent capitalists who desire to keep getting richer while the poor remain more poor in their adversaries. Weighed down by the burden of frustration, having failed to get the chairman to “share the common patrimony” in his administration, these political predators have resorted to spewing concocted stories and malicious falsehood about Chief Ajah Bennett’s administration.

Ironically, the more these bad elements and political predators attempt to rubbish our chairman with worthless allegations and unfounded propaganda, based on fallacious tendencies, the more they portray him to the world as a powerful leader who is born of impartiality, to resist any attempt of selfish centrifugal forces.

Would I asked; that most of Ndi Aninri, especially the politicians, plays opposition politics mainly when they are disgruntled and driven by greed and selfishness? Cases abound and justified anyway because politics is a game of interests. But then, these interests become personalised when political predators believe that, their oligarchy interests should supersedes that of the masses. It’s a sin against democracy! More so, this is the difference between supporting our chairman based on masses’ interests rather than on personal individualized, egocentric and the egoistic greedy interests of political predators.

For the records and in case these political predators do not know; He is the type of leader our Governor desires to succeed him because he too is aggressively averse to the sharing of our state wealth to please the insatiable appetite of “iron law oligarchy.” One remarkable thing about such leaders too is that the more political predators sponsor image damaging writings against them in the media, the more they win elections. This equally explains why they sweep the polls and coast home to victory in every elections.

Just In: Political Jobbers Has Regrouped Themselves Into Aninri People’s Forum

The determination of some well known political jobbers in Aninri who has regrouped themselves into a platform known as “Aninri People’s Forum” to find fault in everything about the incumbent administration of honorable Bennett Ajah never ceases to amaze me. It is a bit like accusing a snail of over speeding– a scenario that highlights how our perception can be influenced by our mindset.

They’re hell-bent on discovering flaws, they often overlook the bigger picture. They scrutinize and point fingers at the most unlikely targets, sometimes missing the genuine issues that deserve attention.

Instead of fasting and prayering to ask the almighty Jehovah for forgiveness on the political attrocities, social instability, sufferings, thuggery, Disgrace, impunity, corruption mated to ndi Aninri by them and their godfather whom nemesis had cought up with an unexpected retirement at the UK correctional center.

it’s essential for us to encourage a more balanced perspective. It’s not about ignoring problems or deficiencies; it’s about addressing them constructively and without bias. Rather than obsessing over the minors, let’s focus on understanding the broader context and significance hereafter.

This way, we can foster a more inclusive approach, working together with *Igwe Menia* to find real solutions, instead of merely accusing snails of over speeding.
We all should check where we are guilty of in any union we have found ourselves and subsequently amend our ways.

After all, it’s not about fault-finding, but about finding common ground and making positive changes in Aninri Local Government Area as the incumbent administration of honorable Bennett Ajah ogbonna had been reviving and restructuring Aninri through numerous projects execution, such as renovation of primary schools, erecting new buildings across the ten wards in Aninri and empowering of youths and farmers etc unlike his predecessor who only enriched himself with Aninri treasuries.

Let us learn always not to attack personality but issues and also allow *Igwe Menia* to complete his second term like other chairmen that ruled Aninri before him.

The sky is big enough to accommodate all birds, so as Aninri is, why strive?

Speaking to the “community reporters news” by one of the councilor when interviewed as at the time of this report he said “Aninri legislative house is exceptionally one of a kind as the law making body in Aninri local government area of enugu state, which consist of ten competent and reliable councilor’s representing different wards whom are legitimately elected in the last free and fair credible bye elections in Aninri.

He stated that the 2023 Aninri budget which was presented to the house by the incumbent chairman honorable aja Bennett ogbonna was duly deliberated with much emphasis and passed through readings before a motion was moved by an honorable learned colleague during plenary and seconded by another and the house adopted and passed the budget.

Noting that the allegations on the bribery by some misguided elements was only sponsored to tanish there integrity and reputations, and at such the entire public should disregard such information.

Aninri legislative council remains a sacred law making body with elected men and women of integrity and great reputations.

Enugu Based Lawyer: Barr. Peter Ajah Celebrate’s Engr Anayo Onwuegbu On Tribunal Victory

Destiny they say may be delayed but cannot be denied, According to Brodi Ashton “Heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the power they are graced with”

In the words of Barr. Aja, “I join millions of friends and supporters of Chief (Engr) Anayo Onwuegbu, (Ebube Enugwu; Omeiheukwu) to Congratulate the People’s Democratic Party of greater Awgu and the entire people of Aninri Awgu and Oji-River Federal Constituency for the victory at the tribunal.

At this stage of our political history in greater Awgu, we need a man with great ideas and capacity to measure and synergize with the innovative and revolutionary Governor of Enugu State in his quest for a prosperous State.

Chief Onwuegbu is an Engineer of great repute, an accomplished businessman with enormous administrative experience; local and international contacts, and has the quality of personality and requisite knowledge to evolve development and attract investors to our constituency through effective legislations.

He undoubtedly demonstrated his penchant for economic and rural development of the constituency when he mobilised equipment and commenced road construction in all the forty one (41) electoral wards of the Constituency.

The tribunal ruling has indeed restored our faith in the judiciary as a place of hope for the common man. This is a good development for the advancement of democracy in our Constituency and Enugu state at large”

Barrister Aja’s words resonate deeply with the collective hopes and expectations of the constituency. They underscore the belief that Onwuegbu’s victory heralds a brighter and promising future for the entire region. The triumph secured at the tribunal undoubtedly ushers in a new dawn for Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu and, by extension, the Awgu/Aninri/Oji-River Federal Constituency.

Fresh Political Crisis Looms In Aninri, Amidst Ndeabor New Yam Festival

Peace and harmony are basic prerequisite, they bring stable order to every society, and they are necessary condition for the survival and development of mankind.

A community deprived of peace and harmony certainly will fall apart and return to the jungle era in which the strong prey on the weak.

The clamour for peaceful coexistence and togetherness by Aninrians have been over-emphasized as Ndeabor community have witnessed crises among themselves, which brought about the cultural new yam festival celebration, as agreed by both igwe’s; HRM Akuatuegwu & HRM Igwe Ben Eze in conjunction with Ndeabor indigenes home and abroad as the perfect means through which they can bring everlasting peace to Ndeabor indigenes and ndi Aninri together to foster unity and oneness among themselves, was thwarted due to Ikeoha’s continuous divide and rule in several communities in Aninri to be precised.

The commissioner for youths and sports Enugu state embraced the new Yam cultural festival celebration with vindictive and personalized desires, against the walls of Ndeabor indigenes and Aninrians, by following the script of his father the “Ikeoha’s group”.

Recall that on the day of the new yam Ndeabor festival celebration, HRM Igwe Ben Eze was never seen at the event scheduled venue as story has it that he had refused to come to the celebration and the Ikeoha’s group lead by the former house of Assembly member Okwu Chinedu Utaka and colleagues, with the commissioner of youth and sports Enugu State all went to his house instead of coming to the venue ground where the celebration was ongoing.

Spectators who came from different parts of the world both indigenes and none indigenes of Aninri were all neglected and disappointed by the actions displayed by the Ikeoha’s group and the commissioner for youth and sports Enugu State as there actions triggers and deepened more division among Ndeabor and ndi Aninri.

As we all know that over the years Aninri has witnessed economic, social, political and developmental set backs due to the monopolization of it’s political sphere, until the emergence of the past-administration of His Excellency Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, which brought about libration of Aninri politically and otherwise.

Aninrian’s say NO to politics of ranchor, let’s give love a chance.

DON’T EXPECT THE STARTING POINT OF OUR ADMINISTRATION TO BE ROSY, TINUBU TO NIGERIANS

The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has said that due to the myriads of problems bedeviling the country, the starting point of his administration might not be rosy but assured Nigerians that they will surmount the challenges rapidly.
He said this on Friday in Abuja at the Jumat Prayer and lecture as part of activities lined up for the May 29 handover ceremony.

Tinubu who was represented by the Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, said he is aware they are short of time, and that delay might compound the deteriorating situation of the country.
According to him, the issue of subsidy removal and the multiple exchange rate system among others have become a serious challenge that the administration must surmount in record time.

He said, “Tinubu is a fair-minded person. He will do justice to Nigeria irrespective of affiliation with political parties, religious and tribal background. We are united by our common heritage of poverty and insecurity among others. This is time for all of us to form a single force.

“Ours is a great nation waiting to unleash its great potential to the world. China was once called a sleeping giant but today, China had woken up. Nigeria needs to wake up. We are calling on all of you to pray for us for God’s guidance. I want to assure you that Tinubu will hit the ground.

“We do not have the luxury of time. The challenges facing us are getting worse. We are living in a pressing time. Rest assured that in the fullness of time, Nigeria will pay glowing tributes to us. The starting point might not be rosy let me be very honest with you.

“Oil Subsidy is albatross on our neck. The multiple exchange rate system is a drain on the national economy. There are certain decisions the president-elect will take but in the fullness of time, Nigerians will not only appreciate but also celebrate us.”

He, however, promised that women would be well represented and compensated in the incoming administration.

“To my sisters, be rest assured you would be well represented in the incoming administration. Not only this, I promise you, you will be well compensated,” he said.

The President Muhammadu Buhari on his part, said the economic, security and other problems faced under his watch were a global phenomenon.

Buhari, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, said that the way Nigerians handled the problems showed that they have surmount other challenges.

He said,” The problems we have had within the economic, security, and social sector are not peculiar to us. The potentials are always there to make the country great. How we managed during COVID-19 and the Russian /Ukrainian war among others have shown how Nigerians can come out of difficult situations.”

He urged Nigerians to put aside their differences in the polls aside and support the incoming administration.

He said,” Elections have come and gone. Another set of leaders has been elected. It is our duty to give them the necessary cooperation to enable them deliver their plans towards transforming Nigeria. As citizens we must turn our differences into our source of strength to enable progressive development.

“We must also strive to ensure peaceful coexistence, harmony, respect for the rule of law. A solid foundation has been laid in the last administration for successive administrations to build on.”

In his goodwill, the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Prof. Is-haq O. Oloyede, prayed that the incoming administration shall be a successful one for the ummah and the Nigerians at large.

He urged Tinubu and his administration to remember that the “Good we do comes back to us in the moment of need one way or the other. You may go through some traumatic experiences but the end will be sweet.

“The irony of the Muslim condition is that when Muslims are in power, they are not often in power in the real sense since they want to please the world and when they are out of power, they are completely not in power. A census of Muslims in the positions of authority had been taken over some periods of time by the Council and the results of how we are marginalised, especially in the South, are shocking.

“The last part is a request. There are certain areas of our national life that are dear to the hearts of Muslims and one of them is the education of our children. I speak the mind of the President-General of the Council and Sultan of Sokoto that there are many evils sneaking into Nigeria like a thief in the night.

“Homosexuality, lesbianism and sexual perversions are being deodorised as sex education and the evil is being surreptitiously introduced to our youth and children through the school system and the (social) media.

“In order not to jeopadise the future of our children, the Muslim ummah requests to retain aspects of our national life that engender education, information and spiritual wellbeing of the citizens,” Oloyede said.

WHY BUHARI IS A MONUMENTAL FAILURE

We have on record a total of 62 promises Buhari made to Nigerians if elected president. Out of the 62, none has been fulfilled. I mean NONE. That is 0/62!

I will put forth the list as meticulously compiled by Hon Celestine Eronmosele, if there is anyone that you feel that Buhari has achieved, point it out and support your claim with facts and let’s have a debate with you on that. If not, we can agree that Buhari has not ONLY failed but failed woefully and anyone supporting him or APC govt does not care about your good or the good of your children.

FELLOW ODUMARIAN’S

A passionate appeal to oduma stake holders to come together in unity to promote our cultural heritage and existence, to give scholarships to the less privileged odumarian’s, to shape our economy where by we have a central oduma market where our farm produce would be sold, to develop our town, to guide our territorial boundaries and defend our common brotherhood.

let’s unite to champion one political family and one brotherhood . Let’s build a town where love leads, where we can equally share in our heritage without discrimination.
We have long hoped to cruise on good road network in all nooks and crannies of oduma, Roads that will connect us as a one family and make movement of goods and services very easy for all within our town

Let’s not keep hoping and depending on government that will support agricultural revolution, overhaul our education system, harness our solid mineral potentials and diversify our economy, we can do it ourselves we have the capacity, we have men of timbers and calibers.

We have hoped to have our health centres rehabilitated, and more sophisticated medical facilities built.
We keep depending on that government that will gainfully engaged and employ our youths, whereas we can afford to provide and train them on skill acquisitions and empower them.

Great odumarian’s !!! God has answered our prayers by raising great men to come and re-write our narratives.

I called upon all the patriotic sons and daughters of oduma, men of good will, the likes of DOLLAR MAN, AGHA EGO NA ODUMA, OMENIFE NA ODUMA, EKWEZIOKWU NA ODUMA, ORJI AMAECHI ROBINSON, AMOSE OSHI, OKEZIE NWANJOKU, EZIKIEL CHUKWU, all the political office holders in oduma, all the big boys in oduma home and abroad, academia’s, professor’s, all the igwe’s and President generals. Oduma peace ambassadors etc

The beauty of life is the amount of those you built and brought to spotlight.

JUST IN: Nnamdi Kanu Reacts To UN Directive To FG

Nnamdi Kanu, detained leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Monday expressed his delight with the United Nations (UN’s) directive to the Muhammadu Buhari administration to release him unconditionally.

Aloy Ejimakor, who is Kanu’s lawyer, provided this update.

The separatist’s reaction is coming on the heels of the opinion of the UN Human Rights Council Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, that Kanu be released “immediately and unconditional”, and compensation paid to him for the violation of his fundamental rights.

He has been in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja since June 2021 when he was rearrested in Kenya.

“I just exited from visiting Onyendu #MNK. We discussed issues that have lingered from when I last saw him on 27th June. The big event was his landmark victory at the United Nations. It made him cheery and he expressed his profound gratitude to the Team that made it happen,” Ejimakor wrote on his known Twitter handle.

Just In: Uk Court Grants Mrs Ekweremadu Bail On Strigent Conditions

Beatrice Ekweremadu was granted bail by a London court on Monday, over a month after she was held by the UK police on charges of human trafficking and organ harvesting.

Mrs Ekweremadu was arrested alongside her husband Ike on June 23 by the police, claiming they tried to traffic a minor to illegally harvest his organ. The claim that the alleged victim was subsequently debunked after passports, national ID and other documents showed the person as 21.

Still, the Ekweremadus remained behind bars since then and were not granted bail after appearing in court on July 7. The matter was postponed until August for further hearing before today’s decision to free Mrs Ekweremadu while Mr Ekweremadu would remain in custody.

“The position is that I have granted bail to Beatrice subject to some fairly stringent conditions but I have refused bail to Ike,” the Common Serjeant of London, Richard Marks, said in his ruling on Monday evening.

2023: Muslim-Muslim Ticket: I’ve Made The Hard Choice Says Tinubu

Following criticisms that greeted his choice of Senator and former governor of Borno State, Kashim Ibrahim Shettima, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, said he had made the hard choice.

In a statement on his verified Twitter handle, the former governor of Lagos state, averred that he made the hard choice because he believed it was the best choice.

Recall that some Christians and Muslims have condemned his choice of Shettima, noting that he trampled against ‘democratic balancing’.

Yesterday APC Muslim youths rejected his choice of Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate, advising him to replace the former governor of Borno with a Christian political leader or cleric from the North.

July 12th, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF and Tinubu’s ally Mr Babachir Lawal described as a “disastrous error”, Tinubu’s resort to picking a fellow Muslim as his running mate.

Clearing himself in a statement via Twitter, Jagaban opined: “This chapter in our nation’s history demands a bold yet pragmatic approach. In selecting Senator Shettima I have committed myself to this path. I have made the hard choice because I believe it is the best choice.”

“Together, we shall build this party and this nation.”  “This is where politics must end and leadership must begin. True Leadership is not grounded in religious pandering, populism or sentiment. To forge ahead as a nation toward development and prosperity, we must, instead, break the shackles of old thinking.”

TINUBU’S ALLEGED DRUG DEALINGS IN US; NIGRIAN’S SIGN PETITION FOR CRIMINAL REVIEW ON HIM.,

Comrade onyeabor chisom justice (khalifa) reports

An online petition has been launched against the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, calling for a criminal review of his alleged drug dealings in the United States.

The petition was initiated in the late hours of Tuesday, 19th July 2022 by a Nigerian blogger, a maxian and political activist comrade onyeabor chisom justice (khalifa) editor@communityreporters.news.blog

in his petition, he called for the criminal review of Tinubu’s alleged drug dealings in the US, saying that the criminal review will enable Nigerians to know who their potential president is in character and history.

He also stated that the review would help Nigerians to be able to make the right decision on who they place their future and leadership of the country in his hands

The petition comes amidst a recent report by West Africa Weekly that linked the former Governor of Lagos State to a drug business in Chicago ahead of his presidential aspiration.

The history of Tinubu became easy to track following his journey to Chicago in 1975, after claiming to be in exile.

The former Governor upon his arrival in Chicago first spent 2 years gaining an Associate degree at Richard J. Daley College.

He thereafter proceeded to Chicago State University where he studied Accounting, completing his Bachelor’s degree in 1979.

Tinubu, in an interview with The News, claimed that he got a job with Deloitte & Touche, where he supposedly received an $850,000 bonus as a result of his work on a single onsite engagement at the Saudi state-owned oil firm.

West Africa Weekly, however, disclosed that a document, which was obtained from the US District Court of the Northern District of Illinois Eastern Division, allegedly revealed damning information about Tinubu.

The document contains a comprehensive federal indictment and associated case files from July 1993 containing clear and incontrovertible evidence that Tinubu was allegedly involved in laundering proceeds of heroin trafficking for a Nigerian drug ring in Chicago.

Former Nigerian senator and governorship aspirant of Rivers State, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Abe, announced his resignation from the ruling party via a letter addressed to the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on Tuesday.

The letter seen by our correspondent cited the inability of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu of convincing him to remain in the party.

The titled ‘Membership Resignation’ and copied to the Ward 16 Chairman of Gokana local government area and the Rivers State APC Chairman, read;

“I wish to tender my resignation of membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“My decision to quit is not unconnected with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s seeming unwillingness to negotiate with me since he expects me to remain in the APC.

“Hence my resolve to seek alternative platform to actualize my Gubernatorial Ambition in Rivers State.

“I feel it is time to move on with my Ambition, having served this country as Lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly, SSG of Rivers State, and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Let me also use this moment to thank my teeming supporters, and some of those that defected from the APC, for standing by me in all these years, more importantly H.E Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“In the coming days, I shall tell Nigerians my next political decision,” the letter read.

Magnus Abe declared interest to contest the APC governorship primary election in Rivers State in May.

However, the party resorted to businessman, Tonye Cole as its flag bearer for the polls in 2023.

Just In: Tinubu’s Family Rejected Him

The controversy surrounding the paternity of the former Lagos State governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was renewed on Monday as members of the Tinubu family in Lagos confirmed that he had no genealogical relationship with the family.

The family, in a book entitled, “Onijumu Wura; the Tinubu dynasty of Kakawa Street, ” launched in Lagos, said the former governor is not a biological member of the family.

Bola Tinubu had earlier traced his family background to the popular Tinubu family of Lagos, but critics debunked this claim, insisting that he is from Iragbiji in Osun State.

A section of the Tinubu family, apparently worried by the controversy this had generated in the state, decided to write the book that chronicled the descendants of the family which did not include Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The author of the book, Mr. Rafiu Babatunde Tinubu, who is also a former Head of Service in Lagos state, insisted that “all members of their that bears the name must have biological relationship with the cleric, the late Alfa Muhammed Bugara Tinubu.”

He said, with the book, the family needed to put the record straight for posterity.

He said the decision to publish the book was to ensure that the name of the family was not polluted.

“Hence, the research into the origin and place of the family became a prominent agenda that kept reverberating at every meeting of the family.”

“…I was mandated by the family at its meeting sometime in 1982 under the chairmanship of Papa R.B. King to research into the evolution of the Tinubu family in Lagos in view of my antecedents as a lecturer at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University.

Just In: Wike Holds Meeting With APC Leaders

Hon. Nyesom Wike, the incumbent Governor of Rivers State, is reportedly having a closed-door meeting with the immediate-past Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari.

Similarly, Abdullahi Adamu who is the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, has earlier argued that he was not aware of any plan to woo the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

Recall that Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State had led Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State to meet with Wike.

community reporters new reports that the APC Governors took advantage of the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to meet with Wike and convince him to join the ruling party.

Adamu claimed he was not aware about the visit to Wike or the feedback of the meeting

Enugu LP Guber Candidate Warns Against Provocative Ultterances

The governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP) in Enugu State, honorable Chijioke Edeoga, has cautioned politicians against provocative utterances as the nation prepares for the campaign season.

Edeoga noted that civility and respect for alternate views, on the part of political leaders, would encourage supporters and well-wishers to maintain decorum in their conduct and utterances.

In a statement he signed and made available to journalists in Abuja, yesterday, the former member of House of Representatives regretted that since he emerged the flag bearer of LP, political jobbers had been trying to pitch him against Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

He said: “It is on record that during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries, I did not attack personalities, but focused on issues of development and better life for our people.”

He noted that his decision to contest the governorship of the state is within his democratic rights, maintaining that voters should be allowed variety of choices to deepen democracy.

Edeoga further stated: “It has come to my notice that individuals have been making efforts to create bad blood between me and the governor.

“I wish to state, without equivocation, that I have never insulted and would never insult the governor or cast aspersion on his person. In my private and public conduct, I have always comported myself with decorum and respect to constituted authorities.

“I challenge anybody, who has any proof to the contrary, to come forward with it. I have always been civil in my private and public communications and utterances.

“However, I noticed, with dismay, that immediately I emerged the governorship candidate of LP, some busy-bodies have been concocting negative write ups and social media posts to create the impression that I am at war with the governor

“We want credible candidates with competent and trustworthy past records, irrespective of political party.

“So, the goal of the Enugu State Polling Unit Vanguard is to give directions to voters, especially from the grassroot with little political knowledge, to support the most credible leaders best for the State and the nation,” Ude stated.

2023: Northern Elders rejects Muslim-Muslim ticket, declares support for Peter Obi, says rigging machine will fail APC

The elders denounced the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Muslim Muslim presidential ticket, saying the action of the party would not enjoy their blessings as açcording to them, it did not promote equity and fairness in a diverse Nigeria.

In a statement on Saturday, the elders who described APC’s action as highest level of madness and an evil agenda in Nigeria, reminded the promoters of the same faith ticket to go memory lane to see if their action was in line with what founders of Nigeria’s democracy preached and practiced.

Noting that Nigeria was a secular country that no religion should be elevated against others, the elders tasked APC to reflect on its action given that Nigeria of today had shifted from 1993 where such was promoted without any opposition.

The North East elders, operating under the aegis of Coalition of North East Elders for Peace and Development (CNEEPD), told APC not to be comfortable with their action, saying the rigging which it was relying upon as party in government will fail them woefully as açcording to them, Nigerians would vote and safeguard their votes without fear or intimidations from APC’s hired agents.

In the statement by its National Coordinator, Engr. Zana Goni, the group insisted that contrary to APC’s expectation, it would lose the presidential poll before 12 noon, adding that “indications across the country were not in favour of the party that had put Nigeria in its present bad situation.”

The North East elders, also flayed the attacks being carried out on the facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the South East, attributing the developments to some sponsored terrorists outside the zone with the aim to deplete the South East voting strength.

The statement read in part: ”As the 2023 general elections draws near, we the Coalition of North East Elders for Peace and Development have noted with concerns some actions and statements by some political parties and actors in our democratic process. The latest being the impunity orchestrated by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in settling for a same faith ticket in a multi-religious, multi-ethnic and above all, multi-cultural country like Nigeria and the party’s defence of the absurd action in the face of widespread opposition to the abnormalities.

“As leaders who have not only monitored but also actively contributed to political developments in Nigeria for decades, we wish to categorically denounce the APC’s action which we view as inimical to the progress and growth of Nigeria.

Without mincing words, we describe the party’s decision in fielding Muslim Muslim ticket in the 2023 presidential election as the highest level of madness, insensitivity, and an evil agenda against our dear country which we have laboured for years to build. This decision which threatens the unity of the country does not have our blessings and must be resisted by all Nigerians of good conscience. Anything contrary will threaten the fragile unity and peace of Nigeria.”

The elders added: ”We wonder why a sane man and sane political party will contemplate and even go ahead to pick a Muslim as running mate to a Muslim candidate in a presidential election in secular country as Nigeria at this modern age.”

Açcording to the group, ”To make the matter worse, they picked Alhajji Kashim Shetima, a man whose alleged link with terrorism is still a subject of debate in public domain.”

Noting that, ”This is a costly mistake that must be resisted at poll by all Nigerians, irrespective of religion, tribe or ethnic backgrounds in the interest of peace”, the group said:” If this madness is allowed to see the light of the day, the unity and peace of Nigeria will be threatened forever.”

“How can someone tries this in Nigeria? As it stands together Christians and Muslims have started supporting candidates based on religious lines, in mosques and churches across the country. This is not what we need now.

“The peace in Nigeria is too fragile to contemplate this kind of madness as exhibited by the ruling APC. The party has actually made more Nigerians to believe that they have an Islamization agenda as widely speculated,” it said.

The group alleged that attacks on INEC facilitaties in the South East are orchestrated by some political interest groups to reduce the voting strength of the region.

”Given the carefully coordinated attacks launched in recent times on both INEC personnel and facilitates, we will not be wrong to believe that the actions are carefully calculated, planned, and executed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists with aim to disenfranchised the people of South East and also put them in the bad light.

“Security agencies must clamp down on these evil people and bring them to book immediately,” it said.

“We also urge all the South East communities to constitute a special task force to protect INEC facilities and officials across the zone,” it tasked the region.

“We call on all Nigeria’s to resist this evil and selfish agenda of Muslim Muslim ticket with every legal means. The current level of hunger and terrorism in the North today does not respect the Muslim or any religion hence Muslims must look beyond the lies APC is selling to us. We must vote credible leaders with capacity and programme for our dear country,”the elder advised.

2023: GETTING IT RIGHT; ADDRESSING FISCAL POLICY NON-COMPLIANCE IN NIGERIA. WITH PETER OBI.

Fiscal policy refers to the use of government spending and tax policies to influence economic conditions, especially macroeconomic conditions, including aggregate demand for goods and services, employment, inflation, and economic growth.

Unfortunately, Nigeria has been heavily bedevilled by gross indiscipline in fiscal policy execution especially in this recent democratic dispensation.

The widespread lack of fiscal discipline as seen in Nigeria’s leadership can be attributed to poor co-ordination of fiscal policy among the three tiers of government by supposed drivers in governance. Also, there is a weak revenue base arising from high-marginal tax rate with very narrow tax base, resulting in low tax compliance. As a result of these and other factors, serious macroeconomic imbalances have emerged in Nigeria.

The State of States report is an annual publication of Budget which describes the fiscal policy of the 36 states of the federation and ranks them according to the fiscal activities for the year.

Gross mismanagement of national resources, prioritization of recurrent expenditures and non-fiscal policy compliance is an item in the crux of Nigeria’s issues. A support for His excellency peter obi is a clear enthronement of a new era that will mark judicious management of national resources and a better Nigeria.

THE NEW FACE OF POLITICS IN ANINRI

A consummate leader aspires into leadership position to change his environment and not to enrich himself. He passes through sleepless nights to think best how to better the lot of his people rather than increase his material well-being.

The injuries, insults, pains and overall losses he incurs mean little or nothing to him, so long as his people remain the greatest beneficiaries of his mission and vision.

On the other hand, those who see leadership as a means to self-aggrandizement and enrichment end up riding on the back of the people, milking them dry when they get to the top and eventually leaving no legacies for which posterity can remember them.

When Shakespeare in his famous book, Julius Caesarea said that when the poor die there are not comets seen but that heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes; he may have had in mind consummate selfless leaders whose body movement sparks waves of reactions and counter reactions.

It is a common global practice for politicians to cross carpet from one political party to another due to ideological differences on perceived or imaginary inability of a particularly political party to satisfy group or personal interest. However, in the history of Aninri politics, no regime has done what our amiable leader honorable benneth ajah the executive chairman of Aninri did within one hundred days in office.

Although many traducers may not want to hear his reasons let alone believe, but posterity and indeed unfolding events will definitely x-ray the unquantifiable personal sacrifices the mayor made.

The rapid transformation has changed the narrative of the Aninri local government area to the best among others .

Given his antecedents, honorable benneth ajah has proven himself to be faithful, reliable, dependable and visionary in piloting the affairs of Aninri local government area, as a chairman and according to the book of Luke Chapter 16 verse 10, “He that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in much…”
Indeed, instead of casting aspersions on the man who saw tomorrow, Aninrian’s and of course all men of goodwill ought to pray for him and give him all necessary support.

Tinubu will win by 60 per cent in 2023 – DG VON Osita Okechukwu

The Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) and founding member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Osita Okechukwu, has predicted that the party’s presidential flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at next year’s general election will win by 60 per cent.

He made this prediction on Sunday while chatting with newsmen at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

Assessing the party’s candidate for the February 2023 presidential election, Okechukwu rated Tinubu high, insisting that the APC standard will win the election by 60 per cent victory over his other opponents.

Hear the APC leader: “Asiwaju has 60 percent of winning this election. We are in charge of 22 states of the federation. We have the majority in the National and State Houses of Assembly – they are not going to betray him.

“Even in the South-East, that has never been our (APC) stronghold, on the day of the election, we are going there to protect our mandate.”

Okechukwu argued that aside from the growing popularity of the APC flag bearer, he said all political appointees of the present administration who are party members would equally ensure victory for Asiwaju Tinubu.

According to the VON boss, “Whatever is my preference, if I want my office to remain it means I must support Asiwaju, it’s applicable to those who are board members whether you are coming from Yenogoa or Dutse so that is the power of incumbency.”

On the opposition parties, Okechukwu dismissed the Labour Party candidate as no match and argued that the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the PDP and Musa Kwankwaso as New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidates negate the convention of rotation system, adding that this would be their albatross.

“They don’t believe in rotation convention. For them, the agitation or the glue and the bound that rotation created since independence. When Tafawa-Balewa as Prime Minister, the president or governor-general was Nnamdi Azikiwe from the South. When Gowon became Head of State, Obafemi Awolowo was his deputy, the same thing with Murtala and Obasanjo. Obasanjo/Shehu Yar-Adua; Shagari/Ekwueme down the line.

“It’s not as if rotation is a new thing. So, for the PDP because of Atiku’s muscle, they jettison the rotation of the presidency which was an injury to himself. Some of us in the south will forbid him because he touched on the ligament that is holding the country.

“That is why we thank the northern governors because they recognised the import of that ligament. You may not take it seriously but if you know the sense of belonging it brings to the north and south you can’t just dismiss it.

“So APC obeyed it. Kwankwaso I know they were afraid of us. I don’t want to name names. This rotation may not have its legal teeth but rotation is a convention. It has its moral angle. That’s why the UK does not have a written constitution they live on conventions. Atiku will not know what he did to himself until the day the votes come.

So is also the way Kwankwaso is playing with us. The areas he will capture in the north, I know he is not going to give up and since he doesn’t obey the convention, he will not nominate somebody to go with Peter and if Peter does not go strong north, we will be in CPC and ANPP in 2003 we had 12 million votes we didn’t win the south.

Nobody can win in Nigeria if you can’t have northern support. No northerner can win without a southern stronghold. Atiku has lost in the southern stronghold. That’s why I’m giving Tinubu about 60% chances.”

If Peter Obi wins 2023 Presidency, I will Close My Adoration Ministry- Rev father Mbaka Says
19 hours agoAdd Commentby ebinaija27 Views

The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka has revealed that he will close his adoration ministry if Peter Obi win 2023 election. He made this statement after saying that Igbos should endorse another people for president and not Peter Obi

Recall that Fr Mbaka has made it clear that the Former Governor of Anambra State and presidential Aspirant, Peter Obi will never be the President of Nigeria.

According to him Peter Obi does not have the Spirit of giving. He went further to say “I was forced by the Bishops to apologize to Peter Obi. Igbos should look for someone to endorse for president, not Peter Obi”

However, the cleric has vow that if Peter Obi wins 2023 presidential election, he will close his adoration ministry. Dear readers, what do you think? Share your thoughts down in the comment section below

I’ve Cursed Him And He Can Never Be President” – Father Mbaka Tells Peter Obi’s Supporters

Controversial Enugu Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, says those supporting Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, are wasting their money.

He spoke in a message at his Adoration Ministry in Enugu State.

The cleric described Obi as a stingy man who is not concerned about the plights of those around him.

He also declared that the former governor of Anambra State is under a curse, adding that except if he comes to apologise to him, he will never be Nigeria’s president.

“A stingy man, that cannot give people his money, with this hunger ravaging the land, and you are saying he is the one you want. Do you want to die of hunger? Are you people insane? Where is the Holy Spirit?

“It is now that Atiku is seriously contesting for President; now that he is contesting without Peter Obi; it is now that he is serious? We want somebody that is serious. Unless Peter comes here to kneel, if he becomes President, he will close down this ministry. What we are doing is spiritual,

“Listen, a good old man is better than a young wicked man; Peter Obi is going nowhere as far as God lives. If Igbos want a representative, it is not someone like Peter Obi.

“I should not have talked but I saw my video going around everywhere as if Fr. Mbaka wholeheartedly came out and apologized. No, I didn’t apologize wholeheartedly, it was out of duress. I had to obey my Bishop, in obedience I had to, it is not of my volition. I did it because I am a Catholic Priest, my Bishop said, do it, my own is ‘Yes my Lord’.
“I did not say he is a bad man; I said he is a stingy man. A hungry man wants someone that is generous; the man has so much money, but he is ‘I, me, myself’. But that money will not be useful to him. I am very happy now that I have spoken out. That apology is a poisonous curse against Peter Obi.

“If he is wise, he should have come here after that apology to say he is sorry but he waited. Anybody supporting him is wasting his money, he is going nowhere.

“He is my friend. When he was chased out of Government House, he knew the role I played to bring him back, but how did he pay me back? Night meetings we attended to bring him back, ask him, ask Eselu Uga, ask Archbishop Anikwenwa, they know where and how we did it and he was brought back.

“Ask Peter since then what he used to reward Adoration. If you like Peter Obi, tell him to come and ask for forgiveness. Let him come and redo what he did. There is an altar of God he blasphemed; he defiled an altar of God, the Holy Spirit.

“I called Atiku after that apology, he was in Dubai, I told him that there is a revelation on your presidential election; that you are going to be the President of Nigeria on one condition, that Peter Obi is not going to be your running mate. Peter Obi has incurred a curse to himself, which means that he is carrying a curse; if you want to be President, change him.
“Atiku responded that I cannot, Peter must be my running mate, we must win. You saw what happened. Atiku is still alive. That is why I said it is now that Atiku is preparing to be President.

“Atiku responded that I cannot, Peter must be my running mate, we must win. You saw what happened. Atiku is still alive. That is why I said it is now that Atiku is preparing to be President.

“Just like Jonathan, I called him, God has shown that you are going to win this election but on one condition; Jega should be changed. If you change Jega you will win Buhari, but if you don’t, Buhari will win you. Goodluck told me, ‘Fr. I will not remove Jega, we will still win’.

“He held on to Jega and failed,” community reporters new quoted Mbaka to have said.

IGWESHIP THRONE TEARS EMUDO NENWE COMMUNITY APART.

Igweship

The peaceful community of Emudo Nenwe in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State has been thrown into chaos following the death of its traditional rulers some years ago.

As a result of this, members of the Concerned Emudo Development Union— National (EDUN) Stakeholders Forum have raised concern over possible breakdown of law and order in their community.

The Coordinator of the group, Mr Udeinya Ukegbu, said that the community had known no peace since the death of their traditional ruler several years ago as well as the vacancy created on the royal stool by his death.

Ukegbu, while briefing communityreporters news on the security concerns in the community in Enugu, said that it had become necessary to speak out and seek government’s intervention following the succession crisis rocking Emudo Nenwe Community.

He said that the community had delicately been polarized due to the several interest groups which sprang up, claiming to be in charge of the town union administration.

“Our traditional stool and town union administration have been in ruins since the death of our traditional ruler. The community has been thrown into despair and this could affect our generations unborn if nothing is done to resolve it,” he said.

While appealing for the state government’s urgent intervention, Ukegbu disclosed that the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of EDU-N was the only standing constitutional organ that could intervene in the crisis in the community.

“It is on this note that the Generation of Concerned Critical Stakeholders in collaboration with the CEC of EDU-N wishes to appeal to the various branches to prevail on the various factions to sheath their swords in the interest of our dear community,” he said.

He added that the crisis in the community had affected the youth and women wings of the town union as well as the Elders’ Forum, and Council of Clans/Hamlets Chairmen and Secretaries, creating further tension.

“We are, therefore, calling on the Federal and state governments to come to our aid because Emudo Nenwe is at the verge of total breakdown and anarchy,” Ukegbu said.

BREAKING: South-East APC Presidential Aspirants Abandon ‘Consensus’ Meeting

The closed door meeting of the South East aspirants of the All Progressives Congress to decide on a consensus candidate for the region ended abruptly on Friday following report that only 13 presidential hopefuls met the standard of the screening committee.

Chairman of the screening committee, John Odigie-Oyegun, had submitted the much-awaited report of the exercise to the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, at the party secretariat.

He, however, failed to reveal the names of the disqualified 10 aspirants, who didn’t make the list.

This is even as he encouraged the leadership of the party to further trim the list drastically.

The shocking report disrupted the meeting of the Igbo aspirants, which just like their South West counterpart, have been meeting to influence the APC into zoning the ticket to their region.

In attendance were embattled former Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba; former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha; the only APC female in the race, Mrs Uju Ken-Ohanenye; former Senate Speaker, Ken Nnamani; former Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu; Ikeobasi Moleku and Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi.

Although their last meeting took place at the at the Maitama home of Okorocha days before he was raided by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the venue of the current roundtable was not disclosed.

A source had earlier told The PUNCH that just as the South-West leaders, the Igbo aspirants have resolved to consider throwing their weight behind one of their own ahead of the APC convention.

He also disclosed that all the presidential hopefuls in the South East were equally meeting almost on daily basis.

Ohaneye, who also confirmed the report in a phone chat, disclosed that they could no longer carry on with the consensus talk after they read the screening report in the news.

“No, we could not continue the meeting because of the breaking news. We heard about the new list talking about some disqualified aspirants. Whatever we have to do, we first need to find out who and who have been disqualified,” she said.

Meanwhile, report says that the president will meet with all the 23 aspirants on Saturday at the State House for a meeting with the president.

Asked if she is aware of the meeting, the only lady left in the race for APC sole ticket said that an invitation has not been extended to them.

She also debunked the report making the round that the screening results must have been communicated to all the aspirants.

APC Primaries: “Tinubu has been disqualified”

A popular public commentator, Farooq Kperogi, on Friday said he can ‘bet his bottom dollar’ that National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has been disqualified from the party’s presidential primary election holding next week in Abuja.

Community reporters new, reports that banking on a statement earlier today by John Oyegun, the Chairman of the Screening Committee of the ruling party, Kperogi concluded that “the implosion of the APC has just officially started”.

Recall that a newspaper had reported that 10 aspirants were disqualified by the Oyegun-led Committee. Those cleared for the APC Convention were said to be ‘youthful aspirants’. The development has caused tension in Tinubu’s camp, as the former Lagos State Governor is 70 years old.

“Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo disqualified from APC Primaries?” Kperogi said via social media.

“John Oyegun, Tinubu’s nemesis who chaired APC’s screening committee, told newsmen a while ago that only 13 “youthful aspirants” were cleared to run for the party’s primaries.

“I can bet my bottom dollar that Bola Tinubu has been disqualified. 70 years isn’t, by any system of measurement, “youthful.”

“At 65, which is just 5 years younger than Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo isn’t “youthful,” either.

“The implosion of APC has just officially started!”

Fresh Crises Looms In APC Over Southern Or Northern Presidential Candidacy

APC governors were divided over which part of the county to support for the presidency between the North and South since President Buhari has not settled for any particular person among the 23 presidential aspirants screened on Monday and Tuesday by the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led APC Presidential Screening Committee.

While some Northern APC governors pushed that the party’s presidential candidate should come from the North to challenge the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Souther governors said the South should be given preference in the spirit of equity and fairness since the incumbent President Buhari is from the North.

Communityreporters news also gathered that some of the governors while considering the possibility of backing a Southerner for the APC presidential candidate were sharply divided over who to support between Asiwaju Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Following the inability of the APC governors to agree, they resolved to end the meeting and reconvene another meeting tonight or tomorrow, a development that forced many governors to extend their stay in Abuja.

Meanwhile, ahead of the rescheduled APC governors’ meeting, some presidential aspirants met separately with some other presidential aspirants on Tuesday night.

Community reporters new exclusively gathered that Asiwaju Tinubu met with some governors and APC leaders on Tuesday night at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge. Governor Abdallahi Ganduje is one of the major supporters of Asiwaju Tinubu.
Other presidential aspirants also met with some party leaders and members of their campaign team to strategise ahead of next week’s APC presidential primary.

APC Governors Divided Over Buhari’s Consensus Presidential Candidate

Governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are currently divided over the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari that he should be allowed to pick his successor.

Gathered that some APC governors loyal to the National Leader of the party and a leading presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu met at Mallam Aminu Kano House, the Kano State Governor’s Lodge at Asokoro in Abuja.

The meeting is a follow-up to the previous one held on Tuesday evening by all the APC governors at the Kebbi State Governor’s Lodge to discuss the stance of President Buhari on the party’s presidential candidate.

Community reporters new gathered from reliable sources that the meeting at the Asokoro residence of the Chairman of Progressives Governors’ Forum and Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, held shortly after APC governors’ meeting with President Buhari, ended in a deadlock as they failed to reach a consensus.

It would be recalled that President Buhari during a meeting at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday afternoon told the governors that he should be allowed to pick his successor and wanted the governors to support him to do so.
The governors, based on the outcome of the meeting with President Buhari met at the Kebbi State Governor’s Lodge but the meeting according to reliable sources ended in deadlock as they could not agree on how to implement the president’s request.

We won’t allow Igbo Presidential Candidates set their foot on our land if… – Arewa Group

Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has threatened to stop the campaign of any Igbo presidential candidate in the North ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The group, according to DailyPost, claimed a prominent Igbo group also made a similar threat not to allow any Northern presidential candidate hold a rally in any state in the South-East.

Isah Abubakar, President of NYCN, made the threat on Monday in Kaduna while reacting to claims by the Igbo socio-political and cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide opposing the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential flag bearer who recently emerged its presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.

Reacting to Atiku’s victory, the statement explained that Ohanaeze, had in a statement through its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said the PDP presidential candidate would never become Nigeria’s president.

No Igbo person will be allowed to campaign and project Atiku’s presidential agenda in the region, PDP, the main opposition political party in Nigeria has reduced itself as a Northern party.”

According to him, Ohanaeze rejected Atiku’s candidacy, alleging that his emergence as PDP’s candidate was a plot by what he called “unpatriotic Northerners” against the Southern part of the country.

Comrade Isah Abubakar, however, lampooned Ohanaeze for attempting to stoke mutual hatred, and ethnic division among Nigerians, by coming out openly to condemn the transparent process that threw up Atiku as PDP’s flagbearer ahead of next year’s presidential election.

He alleged that Ohanaeze as a group, has turned itself into an agent of disunity, whose stock in trade, he added, is to incite Nigerians of varying ethnic, religious and political creeds against each other.
